The Wrangler Champions Challenge Tour pits the best cowboys and cowgirls going down the rodeo road today against each other in a team format.
There are eleven teams that compete in the challenge with a total of one individual representing the team in each event. The teams are as follows: B&W Trailer Hitches, Coors, Experience Kissimmee, Justin Boots, Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority, Pendelton Whisky, ProRodeo Gear, Ram, TexasLandmen.com, Wrangler and a team that represents the city in which the event is held.
With outs from Salt River Rodeo Company, Powder River Rodeo and Rocky Mountain Rodeo, the bucking horses and bulls put on a show for spectators. Those cowboys who managed to make the eight second whistle put up big scores such as David Peebles’ 84-point ride on RMR’s Lightning tied with Tim O’Connell’s 84-point ride on PRR’s Show Boat. Jesse Wright took home the saddle bronc win on PRR’s Craig At Midnight with a monster 88-point ride, and the bull riding went to Cody Teel who put out an 87-point ride on SRR’s Big Hoss.
The timed events resulted in some super fast times as well. Hunter Herrin clinched the win with an 8.1 second run in the tie-down roping, Luke Branquinho shook his booty after a blazing fast 4.0 second steer wrestling run, Erich Rogers and Cory Petska had a 4.6 second team roping run and Lisa Lockhart won with a 17.84 run in the barrel racing. Trevor Brazile, the king of the cowboys, took home the all-around title.
At the end of the night, it was team B&W Trailer Hitches that won the Scottsdale stop of the Wrangler Champions Challenge Tour. Check out our slideshow below!
