3rd Annual Wyatt Althoff GCPRA Membership Drive Rodeo

Written by

The 3rd Annual Wyatt Althoff GCPRA Membership Drive Rodeo is the rodeo event every cowboy and cowgirl has been waiting for. It’s set to take place in Marana, Arizona, at the Marana Heritage Arena between January 9th and 10th, 2016. The Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association (GCPRA) has once again scheduled what’s going to be a world of barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding, bareback riding, great food and good times. As always, covering the event will be the likes of the Cowboy Lifestyle Network, Earnhardt Auto Centers Road Team and Ak-Chin Indian Community.

The 2016 Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association schedule leads off with the 3rd Annual Wyatt Althoff GCPRA Membership Drive Rodeo. There will be two events each day at the Marana Heritage Arena. The event is spearheaded by the GCPRA working alongside committees like the Navajo County Fair & Rodeo, Durango Fiesta Days and Colorado River Round-Up and sponsored by some of Arizona’s most promising businesses, including Cowboy Up Energy Drink, Renew Gold, Boot Barn and Swanty’s Dodge Dealership.
Last year, the Wyatt Althoff GCPRA Membership Drive Rodeo continued to represent the best in rodeo and the cowboy and cowgirl lifestyle.

Champions included Austin Woods (steer wrestling), Kayce Mahoney (breakaway roping), Luke Jeffries (tie down roping), Cooper DeWitt (saddle bronc riding), Nate Singletary (team roping header), Patty Harrison (barrel racing), Rio Lee (bareback riding) and Joel Gallego (bull riding). Expect more of the same in 2016 at the Marana Heritage Arena, where the Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association will turn Marana, Arizona, into rodeo central.
As always, the GCPRA will demonstrate its great respect for Wyatt Althoff with a tribute, encouraging every contestant to participate. A graduate of Canyon Del Oro High School and New Mexico State, Althoff was only 26 when he died. But even at that young age, he had already established himself as a vital contributor to a rustic lifestyle that continues to embrace team roping, breakaway roping, barrel racing, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding and much more throughout Marana, Arizona, and beyond.

If you want to be part of the 3rd Annual Wyatt Althoff GCPRA Membership Drive Rodeo, you have to be member of the GCPRA by the first day of the event. But no cowboy or cowgirl need worry. You can join at the rodeo. Just make sure your entries are processed at the central entry office ASAP.
