2016 PRCA Poway Rodeo

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s often referred to as “A Brand Above the Rest” and if you’ve ever been to the Poway Rodeo, you’d know why. But everyone is going to get another chance to see what the in-the-know have already experienced. Come September 23 and 24, the PRCA Pro Rodeo will be back in Poway, California, kicking off two days of rodeo action that will keep cowboys and cowgirls talking for days.
Sanctioned by the PRCA and WPRA, the PRCA pro rodeo event will be packed with tons of family friendly activities, food, music and rodeo action. Standouts will be a singing contest with the winner getting the opportunity to sing the National Anthem in front of the expected thousands at the rodeo itself. There will be a peaceful rodeo trail ride with riders of all ages exploring the hills, valleys and waters of Poway. The Patrick Howard Trampus Band will keep feet tapping at the rodeo dance.
The wee ones will also be able to get in on the fun. Mutton Busters and Junior Barrels lets the kids show the pros they aren’t the only ones who can put on a show. The kids won’t be the only adventurers who get their chance at the spotlight. The Poway Rodeo Cowboy Challenge is a rugged, four minute obstacle run for everyone looking to test their mettle. And, of course, there will be more rodeo fun than ever in California. That means Bareback Bronc Riding, Barrels, Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping and Tie Down Roping.
Whether it’s Texas, California or Alaska, if there’s a PRCA pro rodeo and you can’t make it, you can depend on the media team of the Cowboy Lifestyle Network – the Internet’s number one resource for all things rodeo and cowboy related – the Ak-Chin Indian Community and the Earnhardt Auto Centers Road Team. Through articles and video, these groups will highlight all the action at the 2016 PRCA Poway Rodeo in California.
Right now, a cowboy’s not going to find a better time to be had in California than the 2016 Poway Rodeo. Trail riding, singing competitions, rodeo dance and top rodeo action await. It’s not too late to find out why it’s “A Brand Above the Rest.”

Peter Varlet

Peter Varlet’s the cowboy critic you love to hate, until he’s right. Born during a thunderstorm in 1972 in Bismarck, North Dakota, he grew up watching his WWII vet dad battle to save their farm from corporate claws. Now, Peter’s the unapologetic voice of Western culture, with a historian’s grip on America’s past, acknowledging both its heroes and hypocrites. His truth to power articles are a no-holds-barred zone for rodeo reviews, cowboy movie takedowns, and ranching tricks that work. He’ll tell you why your country singer’s a fraud and how to fix a fence with only baling wire and spite. Peter despises corporate factory farms taking over and cherishes the DIY grit of real Americans. Politically correct? Nope. Trustworthy? Damn straight. He’s saving the West, one brutal truth at a time.
