A Car and Driver review calls the 2020 Dodge Challenger “a vehicular time machine” with bold styling and raucous sounds that recall cars from the 60s and 70s. This look is combined with modern features and serious performance hardware.

A pair of V8 engines and an enhanced widebody kit cater to enthusiasts, notes the review. Or a V6 model with optional all-wheel drive offers a vehicle for all seasons, Car and Driver says. A roomier cabin and a bigger trunk make the Dodge Challenger appealing for daily driving too. Both the V6 and V8 Challenger models earned a 26 mpg rating on the highway.

Drivers who want power above all else should check out the 700-hp-plus Hellcat, recommends  Car and Driver in their review. Available with either automatic or manual transmission, the Hellcat offers straight-line speed. “If you’re looking for max power and thrust, look no further,” Car and Driver says.

For 2020, Dodge adds some updates, including new wheel designs and finishes, more paint color options, new exterior badges and a limited-production 50th Anniversary edition, notes Car and Driver. The 50th Anniversary model includes commemorative badges and interior upgrades including nappa leather with faux suede accents and contrast stitching.

Though the Dodge Challenger’s exterior carries a nostalgic look, inside it sports technology and features that are sure to please. Every Challenger comes with a version of Dodge’s Uconnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The interior is also “far roomier,” says Car and Driver, noting that adults can actually use the back seats comfortably. Cargo space provides room for two suitcases with the back seat in use, and six more with the seat folded down.

Biography:

Carolyn Sostrom is a long-time Arizona resident who loves desert sunsets, warm weather, Zumba, and the Western lifestyle.

She attended Saguaro High School in Scottsdale and then Arizona State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Similarly to the protagonist in *The Devil Wears Prada*, Carolyn moved to New York City right after college. She started working for the fashion magazine company Conde Nast but never transitioned to the dark side. After a few years, she left New York in the rearview mirror and returned to her home state, taking a reporter job at the *Apache Junction Independent*.

With over 30 years of freelance writing experience, Carolyn especially enjoys writing about community events and profiling individuals who are making a difference in their communities. She had the pleasure of interviewing a variety of cowboy personalities for an article she wrote for the *Scottsdale Independent* about the history of DC Ranch and its roots as a working ranch. Now, her Western adventures with CLN have her diving into the rugged automotive scene, exploring the trucks and rigs cowboys rely on for work, home, and play, a niche where grit meets horsepower.

She works at Raising Special Kids, a nonprofit resource center for families of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. Carolyn also volunteers with the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix.

Carolyn believes that everyone has a story, and she loves connecting with others to hear their stories. She’s dedicated to ethical journalism and accurate reporting, which shines through in her storytelling.
