More Than Just Competition
Founded in 1961, the Utah High School Rodeo Association was created to promote rodeo among Utah’s youth and to encourage sportsmanship, leadership, horsemanship, and personal growth. As an affiliate of the National High School Rodeo Association, the organization provides junior high and high school students opportunities to compete, grow, and build lifelong friendships rooted in western heritage.
The mission of the association goes far beyond buckles and trophies. Through rodeo competition, students learn responsibility, teamwork, perseverance, and integrity. The values taught in the arena often stay with competitors long after their rodeo careers end, shaping future leaders both inside and outside the western industry.
That strong sense of community is one of the reasons the Utah High School Finals Rodeo continues to draw loyal fans year after year. Families camp together, contestants support one another, and generations of rodeo tradition come together in one unforgettable week.

As Heber City welcomes the state’s best young cowboys and cowgirls this June, one thing is certain: the future of rodeo in Utah is riding strong.
