Ak-Chin Indian Community Celebrates Masik Tas 2025

The 17th annual Ak-Chin Masik Tas is only a month away! Each December, the Ak-Chin Indian Community hosts this amazing celebration, featuring everything from exciting rodeo competitions and high-energy concerts to family fun and vibrant cultural experiences. This annual “birthday” festival is filled with memorable moments and activities for Ak-Chin community members, local residents, and visitors alike.

Heritage, Tradition, & Celebration

Masik Tas is more than just a festival – it commemorates the formal recognition of the Ak-Chin Indian Community by the U.S. government in 1961. Now, over six decades later, this tradition continues to bring together tribal members, families, and the public to celebrate heritage, resilience, and community. This year’s theme is: Our Land/Our Culture; To Show – Learn – Remember – Continue. The theme underscores the community’s commitment both to celebration and to cultural continuity, inviting both members and the public to share in the story of the Ak-Chin people.

“We celebrate with events and activities that Ak-Chin community members, residents, and the general public can enjoy. Events include an evening Light Parade, Carnival, Rodeo Events, Concerts, Vaila Dance, traditional performers, demonstrators, and food/arts & crafts vendors! We hope to see you there!”
