Labor Day weekend is right around the corner and if you’re still looking for something fun to fill those days off the clock, look no further than the Arizona Invitational Black Rodeo, headed straight for Scottsdale, Arizona. Celebrating 15 years in the Valley of the Sun, the AIBR is a must‑see event where talented cowboys and cowgirls from Arizona and beyond face off in fan‑favorite events like bull riding, barrel racing, bronc riding, and more. The Arizona Invitational Black Rodeo is more than just high‑flying bulls and broncs, it’s a weekend full of entertainment that celebrates culture, community, and the legacy of Black cowboys and cowgirls. Alongside the rodeo action, fans can enjoy a grand entry parade honoring Black Western history, lively rodeo announcers and clowns, live music and dancing, and a Pony Express showcase that brings Old West tradition to life. Kidz Rodeo Experience

Designed for kiddos and for adults who are still kiddos at heart, this age‑inclusive experience gives participants a hands‑on look at rodeo history, agriculture, ranching, and the impact of the Wild West. Attendees will learn about different rodeo events, interact with contestants and crew, and see real horsemanship in action. Split into two sessions, the 9–10am “Shining Spurs” segment offers a sensory‑friendly environment for neurodivergent participants, while the 10:30am–12:15pm “Blazin’ Roundup” session features an abbreviated rodeo that introduces everyone to some of the sport’s most exciting events.

From her roots in barrel racing to her role as the 2017 Gilbert Days Rodeo Queen and her involvement with the Cowgirls Historical Foundation, Taryn celebrates her western heritage with enthusiasm and authenticity. Taryn holds a degree in Vocal Performance from Arizona State University, allowing her to merge her passion for music with her love of cowboy culture. As a singer and bassist, Taryn performs with bands across Phoenix and beyond including Great American Regret, Honey Marie Knight, and Sareena Dominguez. Taryn is passionate about blending her diverse interests to offer an authentic and engaging perspective on journalism. Her goal is to connect readers to the events, concerts, and celebrations that matter most, bringing them closer to the experiences she treasures.
