Go For Broke Barrel Racing Showdown

If you’ve never been to a barrel race before, the Go For Broke Barrel Racing Showdown coming up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, October 23-26, is a great one to check out! It’s one of the more competitive and well-organized events in the region, and it draws a serious lineup of competitors from all over the Midwest – all competing for a $20,000 purse. Whether you’re involved in the barrel racing world or just looking for something exciting and a little different to do in Cedar Rapids, it’s definitely worth checking out!

“Will definitely continue to enter Go For Broke Production Events. All staff, especially the office staff and Lynde have ALWAYS been friendly, helpful and are quick to smile when contestants come to the office for any reason,” says one past attendee. “I have never witnessed nor have I ever been treated with disrespect or rudeness, even when the office staff is busy. The events are well run and efficient. Thank you Lynde and staff for producing great events!”

The season isn’t over after this event. Want to know more about other Go For Broke barrel racing events for the remainder of 2025 and next season? Be sure to follow them here: https://www.facebook.com/GoForBrokeBarrelRacing

Buckeye, Arizona: A Barrel Racing Destination

As an Arizonan, I always know when winter is right around the corner. It’s not the cooler weather (which is a most-welcomed sight), but it’s the uptick in horse trailers I see driving down the road. Living in a rodeo snowbird’s paradise, I’ve become an expert at all the hot spots to hit – whether you’re here for months or just a week.

A must-visit barrel racing destination is Buckeye Equestrian Center. Competitors at every skill level are welcome – from jackpots to rodeos to big-time barrel races, there’s something for everyone nearly every day of the week. It’s a great place for seasoning young horses or tuning up your main mounts. And it’s great to visit and watch all the action if you’re a spectator! What better way to spend your winter days than in sunny Arizona?

These aren’t just events – they’re destinations where talent, passion, and community come together in and out of the arena. So whether you’re braving the Midwest fall or enjoying Arizona’s winter sun, make a plan to be part of it. Saddle up, mark your calendar, and don’t miss your chance to catch some of the best barrel racing action the season has to offer!
