Montana’s Big Sky Pro Rodeo returns July 30th through August 2nd, bringing four days of top-tier PRCA competition back to the arena. Now in its 92nd year, this time-honored tradition continues to deliver the skill, grit, and excitement that rodeo fans know and love. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or a first-time visitor, it’s the perfect way to take in a summer evening with family and friends under Montana’s wide-open sky.

Since its founding in 1931, the Big Sky Pro Rodeo has been a cornerstone of the Montana State Fair, running this year from July 25 to August 2. Alongside thrilling midway rides, diverse vendors and exhibits, live music, and tasty concessions, the rodeo brings a distinct Western spirit to the heart of the fairgrounds, capturing the energy and heritage that Montana proudly calls its own.

Wednesday, July 30th | Patriot Night
Rodeo Performance | 7pm
Barrel racing slack will immediately follow the rodeo
Join the PRCA and rodeo competitors as they honor and remember our servicemen, women, and their families at the Patriot Night rodeo performance.

Thursday, July 31st | Family Night
Slack | 9am
Rodeo Performance | 7pm
Kick off an evening of family fun at the Family Night performance! Cheer on the littlest cowboys and cowgals in the family as they face off for their very own Mutton Bustin’ belt buckle!

Friday, August 1st | Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night
Slack | 9am
Rodeo Performance | 7pm
Honor those affected by breast cancer at Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night. This nationally recognized campaign allows rodeos and western events the opportunity to promote breast cancer awareness and fundraise to benefit local communities and charities.

Taryn Cantrell is an Arizona native with a lifelong connection to the rodeo arena. From her roots in barrel racing to her role as the 2017 Gilbert Days Rodeo Queen and her involvement with the Cowgirls Historical Foundation, Taryn celebrates her western heritage with enthusiasm and authenticity. Taryn holds a degree in Vocal Performance from Arizona State University, allowing her to merge her passion for music with her love of cowboy culture. As a singer and bassist, Taryn performs with bands across Phoenix and beyond including Great American Regret, Honey Marie Knight, and Sareena Dominguez. Taryn is passionate about blending her diverse interests to offer an authentic and engaging perspective on journalism. Her goal is to connect readers to the events, concerts, and celebrations that matter most, bringing them closer to the experiences she treasures. Whether you’re attending your very first rodeo or adding another to your collection of memories, Taryn is here to guide you every step of the way!
