CBR World Finals at Cheyenne Frontier Days 2018

Written by

This year’s Championship Bull Ridng (CBR) World Finals, at the Cheyenne Frontier Days 2018 takes place July 20th to July 29th.

Started in 1897, this rodeo has been called the “Daddy of ‘Em All.” Its championship bull riding crown is one of the most prestigious in rodeo. This PRCA event is sure to be a real winner with fans.

History

In the year 1897, a passenger agent for the train, Frederick W. Angier, made the suggestion to the editor of the Cheyenne Daily Sun-Leader that a festival similar to Potato Days in Greeley, Colorado, be made.

Plans began in the Tivoli Saloon, on the corner of 16th Street and Carey.

The “Frontier Day” event had bronco busting, pony races and roping of steer in addition to other events.

It was a great success and the following year it was scheduled for two days and included a parade. Today, Cheyenne Frontier Days is one of the world’s largest rodeos.
