CLN Review: Polaris Ranger, the “Everyday Workhorse”

The Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium is labeled as “the everyday workhorse” for good reason. There’s really not much this thing can’t do when it comes to needing a reliable vehicle for the farm or off-road adventures. Starting at just $17,899 US MSRP, the Ranger 1000 comes in 3 or 6-seat options with a spec list that’ll impress even the toughest cowboy.

The Ranger 1000 is built to last through the hardest of jobs. With a one-piece chassis and beefed-up front drive, this UTV can handle almost any terrain. The UTV is fully customizable as well with a number of add-ons available for purchase: doors, windshields, rear panels, roof, cab accessories, plows/winches, heaters, racks & storage, bumpers & guards, audio & tech, wheels & tires, coolers, lighting, and even youth accessories.

I personally took the Ranger 1000 Premium down to my family farm in South Georgia to put it to the test. From soft pastures to rugged terrain in the woods, this vehicle held up with every test I put it through. Rounding up cattle, hauling feed, deer stands, wood, and tools for numerous hours each day, it was a comfortable and easy-to-use ride for all drivers. When we weren’t working the farm, the Ranger was a great way to enjoy the 120 acres and even visit some neighbors down the road. It’s the perfect all-around vehicle for anyone who works the land or simply wants to go explore.

Next up, we’ll have a comparison review against the Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS, a versatile 4-wheeler that’s built for task-to-trail usage. Stay tuned for a side-by-side review of how both vehicles stand up to the varied conditions of farm life and exploring the woods and swamps of south Georgia.
