If you’ve been following along for the last couple of months then you know we have partnered with Forrest Tool Company to help share their story. In addition to that, if you’ve read any of our previous features so far, then you will know that Forrest Tool Company is a proud, American-Made company, started by a Veteran and now owned and operated by another Veteran, Rob Figueroa. We just did a phenomenal interview with him last month, so if you missed it, make sure to check it out.
Today, we want to highlight two organizations that are held in very high regard to the Forrest Tool Company, the Wounded Warrior Project, and the First Responders Children’s Foundation. Both of these organizations represent the tried and true American values that Forrest Tool Company works towards every day. Let’s learn a little more about them!
In 2003, a group of folks were on a mission to provide basic care and comfort products to the first returning, wounded service members coming home from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. What started as a grassroots organization, quickly grew into a national effort to provide much-needed support to our military’s wounded warriors. Today, the Wounded Warrior Project hosts several events and runs programs to provide aid in mental health, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care. Through their efforts, they have been able to impact and improve not only the lives of wounded warriors across the country but their families as well.
With over 16 different programs in their organization, the Wounded Warrior Project’s mission is clear,
“To honor and empower wounded warriors.”
– The Wounded Warrior Project
Some of those programs include Adaptive Sports, which provides all warriors an opportunity to reach their highest athletic potential. This program works with a national network of adaptive sports providers and provides support for warriors’ limb amputations, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries and so much more. Another highlight program that is benefiting warriors across the country is the Independence Program. The WWP Independence Program,
“provides long-term support to catastrophically wounded veterans living with injuries that impact independence, such as a moderate to severe brain injury, spinal cord injury, or neurological condition.”
– The Wounded Warrior Project
These are just two of the very many ways that the Wounded Warrior Project is making an impact on veteran lives and families across the nation. At its very core, the Wounded Warrior Project is working on and towards everything that Forrest Tool Company stands for. For more information on the organization or how to give back, please visit its website.
Much like the Wounded Warrior Project, the First Responders Children’s Foundation is serving families who are very familiar with having family members on the frontline. Unlike the WWP, this foundation aims to provide financial assistance to children and families who have a family member that has been killed or injured in the line of duty.
To help with their mission, they host and support several different programs that are put on by first responder organizations whose purpose is to benefit children or the community at large. From scholarships to bereavement assistance and everything in between, this foundation’s main goal is to honor first responders and the legacy behind them. For more information on their programs and how to get involved, you can visit 1strcf.org.
Forrest Tool Company is honored to feature these organizations this month and hopes that you will join them in thanking a veteran or first responder today for their service, not only to their country but to their community as well. As a special thank you to veterans and first responders everywhere, Forrest Tool Company would like to extend a year-round 20% off discount to veterans and first responders when they order through ForrestTool.com.
From all of us here at Cowboy Lifestyle Network and Forrest Tool Company, we want to thank all active duty, veterans, first responders, and front-line workers for keeping us safe!
