If you’re in the Globe, Arizona area, and even if you’re not, you should see about getting out to the 2016 GCPRA Copper Dust Stampede Rodeo at the Gila County Fairgrounds. While the annual event takes place on May 6th and 7th, the festivities will actually start early with a kick-off party throughout the surrounding area. As early as April 28th and up until May 2nd, participating local eateries within a 50 mile radius of the event will be offering great food and savings in anticipation of the upcoming rodeo.
Every cowboy and cowgirl in Globe is bracing for the big event. Year to year, the GCPRA Copper Dust Stampede Rodeo just gets bigger and better and more exciting. This time out the pro rodeo features stock contractor Slash M Rodeo Co. Inc., who will be supplying some of the best animals in the region, and Bryan Frye and Rockin’ B Productions, who will announce the events and entertain the crowd. You can also expect family-friendly entertainment from Slim Garner, the event’s official professional rodeo clown.
When you attend, you can look forward to a free dance with great food, drink and live music from Moonshine Mafia, one of the hottest blues-country fried bands in music right now. The dance is only one aspect of the Copper Dust Stampede Rodeo.
Every year, the GCPRAΒ brings some of the most exciting rodeo performances you’re going to see. The action packed fun will officially begin on May 6th, highlighted by junior events. The next morning, Broad Street will be the site of the rodeo’s annual parade. That night, starting at 6 p.m., there will be more pro rodeo and the night closing with that free rodeo dance. Expect a lot of fun activities for the kids, as well as a market filled with souvenirs, gifts, and great food and drink.
