Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR) 2026: 50 Years of Indigenous Rodeo, Culture & Championship Action in Las Vegas

Rodeo News

Rodeo fans, mark your calendars because the Indian National Finals Rodeo is returning to Las Vegas for a milestone celebration unlike any other. From October 13–17, 2026, the 50th Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR) will take over the South Point Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, bringing together some of the best Native American rodeo athletes from across the United States and Canada.

This year is more than another championship. It is a celebration of 50 years of Indian rodeo, family, culture, tradition, and athletic excellence.

For five days, fans can experience high-energy rodeo competition, traditional ceremonies, music, dance, Western culture, and the excitement of watching championship-caliber athletes compete for national titles and coveted INFR buckles.

Whether you’re a longtime rodeo fan, traveling to Las Vegas with the family, or looking for something different to add to your Vegas itinerary, the 2026 INFR is an event worth putting on the calendar

50 Years of Indian National Finals Rodeo

The INFR’s story began in 1976, when the organization was created to bring regional Indian rodeo associations together under one national organization. What started as a movement to create a dedicated space for Native rodeo has grown into a major organization sanctioning hundreds of rodeos throughout the United States and Canada. Now, 50 years later, the road leads back to Las Vegas.

The 2026 Finals bring together athletes who have spent the season qualifying through INFR-sanctioned rodeos across 11 regions in the United States and Canada. The championship represents the culmination of that journey and an opportunity for competitors to compete on one of the sport’s biggest stages.

The 50th anniversary also makes this year’s event an opportunity for longtime fans to celebrate the athletes, families, and communities that have helped carry Indian rodeo forward for five decades.

Five Days of Championship Rodeo Action

If you love rodeo, there will be plenty to watch once the dirt hits the arena floor.

The 2026 INFR features eight major events:

  • Bareback Riding
  • Saddle Bronc Riding
  • Bull Riding
  • Steer Wrestling
  • Tie-Down Roping
  • Team Roping: Header & Heeler
  • Ladies Barrel Racing
  • Ladies Breakaway Roping

The competition also recognizes men’s and women’s All-Around Champions, while junior and senior competitors have their own opportunities to compete.

That variety is part of what makes the INFR such a fun event for families. One moment you may be watching a lightning-fast barrel run, and the next you’re watching a cowboy make a split-second decision in the arena during a roughstock or timed event.

And when the best qualifiers from throughout the season are all competing under the same roof, every performance matters.

More Than Rodeo: Experience the Culture

One of the things that makes the INFR different from a traditional rodeo weekend is how deeply culture and tradition are woven into the event.

The 2026 Finals are expected to feature ceremonial and cultural elements including an Elders Blessing and Grand Entry, with traditional music, dance and regalia helping open the championship celebration.

For fans, these moments offer an opportunity to experience more than just the competition. The INFR is also a gathering place for families, communities, and generations who share a connection to Native rodeo and Western traditions.

It is a chance for younger fans to see the sport up close while experiencing traditions that have been carried from one generation to the next.

2026 INFR Workshops

The celebration begins even before the championship performances.

INFR is presenting a three-day workshop in conjunction with the rodeo at South Point Hotel & Casino on October 13, 14, and 15, 2026.

That gives visitors another reason to plan a trip around the Finals rather than simply attending one performance and heading home.

Bring the Family and Make a Las Vegas Weekend Out of It

One of the easiest ways to enjoy the INFR is to turn it into a full family trip.

Because the Finals run Tuesday through Saturday, visitors can choose the performances that work best for their schedule or build an entire Las Vegas getaway around the championship.

Parents can introduce younger rodeo fans to the sport, longtime fans can follow their favorite competitors, and visitors who aren’t familiar with Indian rodeo can experience an event that combines elite athletic competition with Native culture and community.

And don’t forget that you’re in Las Vegas.

When the rodeo isn’t happening, families and groups can explore the many attractions, restaurants, shows, and activities throughout the city. Staying at South Point also puts you directly at the venue, making it easy to build your trip around the Finals.
