Scottsdale resident Jeff Harris calls the RAM TRX the best truck he’s ever driven, and he’s driven trucks for 40 years. He has a 2022 model, and says it’s the fastest truck he’s ever driven. The beefed-up yet agile truck comes with a hefty price, but it doesn’t disappoint.

“For such a big truck, I’m surprised at how smooth it drives,” Harris said. RAM didn’t scrimp on interior space either, Harris says, noting that the inside offers a “phenomenal” amount of room. He’s driven his RAM TRX around town and on road trips, and the TRX never fails to attract attention.

“When I go out with this truck, people come up and tell me what a nice truck it is,” Harris said. “It’s very beefy looking and wider than a regular truck. It’s the greatest truck I’ve ever owned.”

Reviewers agree that the RAM TRX is a formidable competitor in the truck market. Car and Driver calls it “the quickest gas-powered truck we’ve ever tested,” getting to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds. According to the review, “despite its 6800-pound heft, it can beat a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 to the next streetlight.”

The RAM TRX’s 6.2-liter Hemi V-8, known as the Hellcat engine, provides 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, sent to all four wheels through its eight-speed automatic transmission, says Car and Driver.

While it’s easy to handle on paved roads, the RAM TRX is made for off-roading. Its 35-inch all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch wheels provide 11.8 inches of ground clearance. According to RAM, the truck can also handle driving in up to 32 inches of water.
