Rodeo Austin 2019 in the Lone Star State

Written by

If you want to know where weird meets western, get ready for the Rodeo Austin 2019 in the Lone Star State, taking place between March 16 and March 30. Cowboys and cowgirls have been gathering for this event since 1938, when it started out as a stock show with animals.

It has since become one of the most anticipated events in Texas, preserving heritage and rustic lifestyle that includes team roping, mutton bustin’, barrel racing, breakaway roping, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, live music, a livestock show.

Rodeo Austin puts the Lone Star State at the top of premiere events for music for any cowboy or cowgirl. Over a hundred artists from around the world of music have shown up in Austin for the concert series in a single event, including Aaron Watson, Flo Rida, Midland, Josh Turn, Martina McBride, and Dustin Lynch. New this year, is Rodeo Austin’s “Kick Open the Chutes” which takes place the night before the fifteen-day fair & rodeo officially opens its gates for 2019! This party on the dirt features two live music concerts, rodeo eats, a cash bar, rodeo-inspired games, and silent auction – all on the arena floor!

Besides the rodeo and concerts, another great opportunity are the fairgrounds. It features the largest carnival in Austin, amazing food, shopping, games and shows for all members of the family. There’s Kidstown, an expansive petting zoo, the Wild West Show and even pig races! Attendees will also be able to buy everything from furniture to toys to cowboy hats and boots.

Rodeo Austin still has its traditional live animal stock show with exhibitions from all across Texas. Of course, at the end of the day, it’s all about the rodeo. The best-of-the-best will compete in all the classic rodeo events such as team roping, barrel racing, calf roping, breakaway roping, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding.

If you happen to be in Austin, make sure to check out the event where weird meets western and tag Cowboy Lifestyle Network on Facebook or Instagram.
