[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is back for another thrilling year. Starting on February 8th and running more than two weeks to the 25th, the show will have everything you could ever want in roping, rustling, bronco busting, and the livestock arts. As a special event, the PRCA Xtreme Bulls tour will be holding a PRCA qualification event during the show.
The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, known by the official name of the San Antonio Livestock Exhibition, has grown to be one of the best rodeos in the United States. More than two million people come to the show each year, making it one of the largest events of any kind in the Texas town of San Antonio. This show is supported by volunteers, donors, and the community, and they make sure that they give back to the people of Texas. More than $186 million dollars goes to charity every year because of this show. The San Antonio Coliseum was built by volunteers and citizens specifically for this show, though the city enjoys the use of it all the year around. The coliseum was inaugurated with its 1st rodeo in 1950, and it has enjoyed growing popularity in the years since. Now they have added a modern auditorium for national musical acts and a Hall of Fame for all the great cowboys that have come to San Antonio.
The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is rated by the PRCA as one of the top rodeos in the United States. The PRCA, or Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association, monitors this show to make certain that the sport is fair and fun for everyone. The PRCA Xtreme Bulls team will be making their yearly appearance in San Antonio. The qualifying events for the 1st Division PRCA Xtreme Bulls will commence on February 24th, when they will showcase some exciting rodeo action.
But it isn’t all rodeos in San Antonio. There are shows, concerts, and rodeo after parties galore. Nationally renowned musicians such as Gary Allan and the Josh Abbott Band will be there to show everybody a good time.
