As part of the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) circuit, the San Dimas Rodeo is one of the various events that is part of the traditional San Dimas Western Days celebration.
From October 7 to the 8, the San Dimas Western Days celebration will become the center of rodeo culture in Southern California. The history of the San Dimas Rodeo and San Dimas Western Days dates back more than 20 years; this event is held every year in memory of Tex Shoemaker, a man who was born in Nebraska and would later fall in love with cowboy culture in El Paso as well as in the Sierra Madre Mountains.
The main PRCA competitions will take place each day at 2:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Horsethief Canyon Park. As is the case with all PRCA events, rodeo fans will get to experience all the excitement of bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and everyone’s favorite: bull riding.
