San Dimas Western Days Rodeo 2017

San Dimas, California will become a western town October 7 & 8, 2017 for the San Dimas Western Days and San Dimas Rodeo. Come out and celebrate with us!

The San Dimas Rodeo is one of the most awaited Western heritage events in the Golden State. As part of the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) circuit, the San Dimas Rodeo is one of the various events that is part of the traditional San Dimas Western Days celebration.
From October 7 to the 8, the San Dimas Western Days celebration will become the center of rodeo culture in Southern California. The history of the San Dimas Rodeo and San Dimas Western Days dates back more than 20 years; this event is held every year in memory of Tex Shoemaker, a man who was born in Nebraska and would later fall in love with cowboy culture in El Paso as well as in the Sierra Madre Mountains.
The main PRCA competitions will take place each day at 2:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Horsethief Canyon Park. As is the case with all PRCA events, rodeo fans will get to experience all the excitement of bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and everyone’s favorite: bull riding. Tickets can be purchased online directly from sandimasrodeo.com. The best ticketing deal is the Family Pack, which grants access to two adults and two children along with Carl’s Jr. meal tickets for just $55.
Aside from the rodeo action, residents and visitors in San Dimas will also have an opportunity to help towards a good cause, the Challenged Buckaroos event for young cowboys who live with disabilities. Participants get to meet PRCA competitors from California, from across the United States, and even from other countries such as Brazil and Mexico. Parents who would like to enroll their special needs children can call 909-394-RODEO(7633) for more information.
Rodeo fans who are concerned about animal welfare issues will be happy to know that the San Dimas Rodeo is known to be one of the most strict in this regard. In general, the PRCA takes excellent care of the horses and bulls that participate in these events; it can be safely said that they enjoy better lives than the cowboys who look after them.
All the action and excitement of the 2017 San Dimas Western Days and Rodeo will be covered by a collaborative effort between the the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Earnhardt Auto Centers, the Papa John’s Pizza Road Team, and Cowboy Lifestyle Network.
