If you’re itching to travel this summer but haven’t quite decided on a destination, this is your sign to take a trip to the historic Sisters Rodeo June 11-15! Located in Sisters, Oregon, the “Biggest Little Show in the World” offers an unforgettable blend of Western tradition, small-town charm, and world-class rodeo action. Whether you’re a seasoned rodeo fan or just looking for something new and exciting, the Sisters Rodeo is a summer experience you won’t want to miss!
Sisters Rodeo has been a cherished tradition since 1940. At the time, because the small-town rodeo offered purses of $500, equal to Pendleton and Cheyenne, the cowboys tagged Sisters Rodeo “The Biggest Little Show in the World.” Except for the announcer and the stock suppliers, the rodeo was an all-volunteer production, a tradition that has not changed. The rodeo has since grown into one of the premier PRCA-sanctioned rodeos, with nearly 200 members and over $100,000 in added money.
One aspect of Sisters Rodeo I think makes it stand apart from the rest is their generosity in giving back to their community. They give over $35,000 every year in financial support and in-kind donations to non-profits, especially those supporting youth and western heritage in the area.
“We’re just excited to have everybody come out this year. It’s all about creating a family-friendly environment and celebrating what makes this event so special. Being the 85th year makes it even more meaningful. As Scott always says, ‘Time to go to work.’ We’re ready to go and can’t wait to see everyone in June.”

“It’s huge for the community. It’s huge for our ticket sales. It’s just something that I think we’ve needed to do for years, and we’ve held off on. This year, our ticket sales have been off the charts. This is our 85th year, so it’s a big deal for us. We’re making some huge improvements around the rodeo grounds, and we’re really excited.”

I can’t think of a better summer trip than watching a historic rodeo set against a beautiful backdrop like the Cascade Mountains! It’s got all the action and excitement you could want, wrapped up in a town that makes you feel like part of the family. I know I’ll be back, and if you go, don’t be surprised if it becomes your favorite rodeo too!
