Taylor Night Rodeo 2020

The Taylor Night Rodeo has been bringing rodeo to Arizona since the 1950s. They are promoting the honor of the Great American Cowboy who was immortalized in old westerns on television and in movies. It’s the cowboy and cowgirl that inspired songs and books too. Along with the great spirit of the Wild West, the annual event promotes crowd participation during the Fourth of July weekend.

What Makes This Event Special?

The annual celebration allows the public to join in any event without having a membership card. If you believe you can rope and ride, you’re welcome to participate in any event as well as win the prize if you place during the competition. Local competitors are most welcome, as it’s an open event with prizes for anyone who wins.

What Kind of Events Will There be for Competitors?

Whether you’re a cowboy or cowgirl, there are events for everyone at the celebration. On the 4th of July weekend, the town will celebrate with a flag raising ceremony, the rodeo itself, firing of the anvil and beautiful fireworks. There will also be a barbecue for visitors at the event.
The event lineup includes barrel racing, bull riding, saddle bronc, bareback riding, tie down roping, breakaway roping, team roping and steer wrestling. All of this action happens over the fourth of July weekend. See the flyer below for all the details.

Brief History of the Taylor Rodeo and Cowboy Christmas

The event celebrates its 66th year in July.  Across the U. S. and Canada, July is normally the time when there are typically many events in the rodeo world going on, this year is going to be a bit different, unfortunately.  Cowboy Lifestyle Network is blessed to be able to attend and support one of the few rodeos that will be opening their doors to the public during these trying times.

The Town of Taylor is home to a lighted, professional rodeo arena seating more than 5,000 where several rodeos are held throughout the summer. Other facilities include the Taylor Museum and Visitor Center, historic home tours, Taylor Municipal Airport, and municipal parks that offer pickleball, racquetball, basketball and volleyball courts, soccer and baseball fields, picnic and barbeque areas, playgrounds and walking trails. – From the Town of Taylor
