The fun and excitement of the highly anticipated 104th annual GCPRA Pima County Fair & Rodeo 2015 runs for 11 days from April 16 – 26. Open daily, this old-fashioned county fair features new events and attractions along with perennial favorites brought back by popular demand. Spend the day with family and friends at the Pima County Fairgrounds enjoying concerts, animal exhibits and the GCPRA rodeo as well as carnival rides, midway games and mouth-watering fair food.
The Fair
In addition to browsing displays filled with crafts produced by local artisans, visitors can experience live demonstrations in Pima Hall. Visit the kid-friendly interactive science and agricultural exhibits, the furry animals in the petting zoo and Kiddie Land with its pony rides and easy-going carnival rides. You can even adopt a cat or dog at the fair. In the time-honored tradition of county fairs, the GCPRA Pima County Fair & Rodeo 2015 hosts tractor pulls, 4-H shows and a livestock auction.
The Midway
Follow the lights of the Grand Wheel for higher and faster carnival rides and more challenging arcade games. The fair features almost 50 midway and nearly 60 different carnival rides. In addition to midway-style treats, you can enjoy the casual dining, drink specials and sports coverage on four big screen televisions offered by the Sunset Cantina Bar and Grill.
Shows and Entertainment
Head over to the Budweiser Main Stage for concerts and other live entertainment that is included in the price of admission to enjoy a wide range of musical styles. Performers include David Nail, Jeremih, R5, Switchfoot and Banda Los Recoditos.
Other daily shows featured throughout the fairgrounds include magician Adam the Great, hypnotist Tyzen, Fables of the West and other street performers along with KLOVE’s Amazing World of Birds, Sea Lion Splash, Skip Banks the Balloon Man. Gradymusic returns to Old Pueblo Hall. The arena is the setting for the antique and low-rider car shows where you can compare the styles of yesteryear and today.
Equestrian Events and Rodeo
Equestrian shows and competitions include Hunter/Jumper, Arabian and Quarter Horse as well as several other prize and trophy events. The final days of the GCPRA Pima County Fair & Rodeo 2015 are highlighted by adrenaline-pumping rodeo action. Cheer on your favorite Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association cowboys and cowgirls as they demonstrate their barrel racing, steer wrestling, bronc and bull riding skills. One of the most affordable attractions in town, the GCPRA Pima County Fair & Rodeo 2015 also features several discount admission specials.
