Officially signing her first record label later this week, seventeen year old Kaitlyn Croker has been blowing crowds away with her sultry vocals and epic power notes since she could talk. “I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. As I got older, my favorite time to sing was when I was mowing the lawn cause I didn’t think anyone else could hear me and I was in my zone” Kaitlyn laughs.
“I started out doing Christian music and was on my church worship team for four years. From there my passion for music and being on stage grew. I learned how to play the piano and guitar then fell in love with country music.”
Growing up in Maryland, as Kaitlyn and her siblings grew older and her dad retired from 26 years of military service, the family traveled around and fell in love with varying areas of Tennessee. Croker and her youngest brother being homeschooled and the family has the flexibility to move, they decided to head south to Nashville. In July 2021, they pulled into town as (temporary) full-time RV residents and put down roots.
Through the process of home buying, exploring the town and simply meeting new people, Kaitlyn and her family quickly became friends with a local producer named Kyle Smithson (Pat Green “Build You A Bar”, Trey Lewis “Single Again”). Through Kyle, Kailtyn has had incredible opportunities to showcase her music, including singing on a soundtrack for a film Smithson produced called Shotgun Charlie. Croker is also an actress in the short film. In addition to her budding career on screen, Kailtyn has performed on stages across Nashville in writers rounds, for private events at Johnny Cash’s Storytellers Hideaway Farm, across neighboring states and alongside other musicians such as Chad Wilson and Trey Odum.
Now, Kaitlyn is making a name for herself as an up-and-coming artist. Her first feature on a single, called Ascending, hit all streaming platforms in early July. With vocal skills far beyond her years, Croker captivates her listeners with a powerful range inspired by artists such as Martina McBride, Shania Twain and Faith Hill.
