NBHA Youth & Teen Championships 2026

Barrel Racing

The excitement is building as the 2026 NBHA Youth & Teen World Championships prepare to return to the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, Georgia, July 18–25, 2026. As one of the most anticipated events in youth barrel racing, this championship event showcases the next generation of talent while offering incredible opportunities, prestigious awards, and unforgettable competition.

The NBHA Difference

Since its founding in 1992, the National Barrel Horse Association has been a driving force in the growth of barrel racing. The NBHA was the first organization to give credence to divisional barrel racing. From day one, all competition was scored by division, with the fastest time being the 1D (or 1st division) and other divisions being paid out in half-second increments. Prize money is paid out proportionately, but awards are the same for all divisions.

With over 20,000 members on 5 continents, the NBHA brand is well known. NBHA sanctions over 3,000 district (local) shows per year, sponsors over 44 state shows per year and has a professional staff that crisscrosses the nation producing larger (regional) shows.  The NBHA provides a place for all skill levels to compete.

Big Money, Big Opportunities

With more than $700,000 in payouts and prizes on the line, the 2026 NBHA Youth & Teen World Championships offers incredible opportunities for competitors in both the Youth (12 and under) and Teen (ages 13–18) divisions. Championship awards include 10 Circle Y Saddles awarded to the 1D–5D Champions in both divisions, along with 10 Gist World Champion Buckles and 10 Gist Reserve World Champion Buckles. Competitors will also have the chance to earn Go Round Buckles in Rounds 1 and 2 of both classes, plus numerous additional prizes throughout the week. To top it all off, an impressive 510 Gist Finalist Buckles will be awarded, ensuring recognition for outstanding performances across the championship.

A Pathway to the Next Level

A special highlight of this year’s championship is the Premier Women’s Rodeo (PWR) Championships Qualifier. Open to competitors ages 13 and older, this event offers competitors a chance to qualify for the 2027 Premier Women’s Rodeo World Championship. Utilizing a 5D format based on a carryover from Round 1, the qualifier features a $100 entry fee and a 90% payback. The highest-placing Pro, Challenger, and up to five Limited competitors will earn guaranteed qualification spots, creating another exciting pathway for talented barrel racers to advance their careers.

“This is definately an exciting time for our youth of barrel racing.”
