The Old Santa Ynez Days Rodeo is Coming to Town

Santa Ynez, California – The time is now Old Santa Ynez Days Rodeo is kicking off June 24th and 25th, 2023. This will be the fourth annual event presented by The Santa Ynez Valley Western Heritage Foundation. The rodeo will be held at the Santa Ynez Chumash San Carlos Property located at Meadowvale and Highway 246 (CA-246 & Meadowvale Rd, California 93460). All ages are welcome, purchase your tickets today!

Rodeo Time

This two-day event is a Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) qualifying rodeo. Get ready to watch the top cowboys, cowgirls, and animal athletes give it their all competing in eight rodeo events Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc, Tie Down Roping, Break-Away, Bareback Bronc, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and Steer Wrestling. There will also be Junior Events including, Junior Barrel Racing, Junior Breakaway Roping, Mutton Bustin, and a Stick Horse Race.

Get ready for an action-packed rodeo that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. There will also be Western wear and gear vendors. Come enjoy some great food, beer, and wine and catch some fun games. Live music and dancing will kick off right after Saturday’s performance. There’s something for everyone! Come celebrate this fun-filled family event celebrating our Western culture in the heart of beautiful Santa Ynez, California! We’ll see you at the Old Santa Ynez Days Rodeo.

  • Saturday, Jun 24, 2023
    • Gates open at 1:00 pm – Main Events kick off at 3:00 pm
      • Live music and dancing will kick off right after Saturday’s performance.
  • Sunday, Jun 25, 2023
    • Gates open at 12:00 pm (noon) – Main Events kick off at 2:00 pm

Tickets

  • General Admission – $35.00 (per day)
  • General Admission Two-Day Ticket – $50.00
  • Kids 12 and under are FREE when accompanied by an adult. 

Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate.

Howdy, I'm Megan deFabry. I grew up in Reno, Nevada, but since 2017 my heart has called Texas home. I now reside in Austin, Texas since 2020. I'm driven by my faith, cherished relationships with family and friends, and my professional ambitions. And like any good cowboy tale, there's a loyal sidekick, my little Dachshund, Frank, who I adopted from a shelter in New Braunfels, Texas, back in 2018. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs and a minor in Mass Communication. My major taught me to decode consumer behavior, which is crucial for marketing, while my minor sharpened my storytelling skills. Since then, I've spent years mastering SEO and content strategy, staying ahead in a fast-moving field. My work even caught the eye of Cowboy Lifestyle Network's CTO, Irish Padmore, who recognized me for contributing to his research on Consumer Behavior in the Age of AI.

Since 2018, I've been honored to work at Cowboy Lifestyle Network. Now as Editor-in-Chief writing, editing, and publishing articles that capture the cowboy spirit, crafting strategies rooted in Western values, and building real client connections. Guided by ethical journalism, I aim to tell stories that resonate and reflect the unsung heroes of the Western spirit.
