Written by

Here at Cowboy Lifestyle Network, we are all about supporting small businesses which is how this series was born. Now every month, I am thrilled to highlight a small business in the western, ag, or rural space. If you’re interested in applying to be featured, check the link at the bottom of this article! This month, I am excited to introduce Sarah Loudermilk, owner of Laze L Farm Photography. Let’s dive in!

Krysta: Can you tell our audience a little about yourself?

Sarah: I live in Taylorsville NC and grew up showing and competing in hunter jumpers from when I was 5 years old all the way through college. My family has always been into horses and raising cattle. Both sets of my grandparents had cattle growing up. From putting up hay in the summer to working cows during calving season. I’ve always grown up around horses and got my first horse when I was 2. I’ve never not known a world without horses and in college, I was on the equestrian team at App State and I started taking pictures for the team, that’s where my love of photography and horses started.

Krysta: How did you get started in your business?

Sarah: When I was on the equestrian team at Appalachian State University I managed our website and social media so to get images I started using my dad’s camera at shows to have content. And I fell in love with photography.

Krysta: What motivates you in your business?

Sarah: It’s a passion like I can’t even describe. It’s definitely a God-given talent and I’m always wanting to learn more and improve the best that I can. I love building lifelong friendships with my clients who continue to come back. It’s def a dream job and I feel so lucky to even get to do this every day.

Krysta: What makes your business unique from others?

Sarah: I put everything into this business. I bend over backward to make sure your experience is amazing. I Taylor every photo shoot to the client and their horse. I have a huge western fashion client closet that clients can pick from and uplevel their pictures to feel like a fairy tale!

Krysta: Where do you want to be in the next 3 years?

Sarah: I want to be traveling more and meeting new clients all over the country. I want to be offering equine photography workshops in some of the most beautiful places out west on ranches. I want to share my passion with others!
