The 77th Annual Rodeo de Santa Fe returns June 24-27, 2026, bringing four nights of PRCA rodeo competition, live entertainment, and long-standing New Mexico tradition to the historic city of Santa Fe. Since its inception in 1949, it’s grown into one of the Southwest’s premier summer rodeos and is the perfect destination for your ultimate summer getaway. Spend your days exploring the city’s art galleries, historic adobe architecture, local markets, hiking trails, and celebrated New Mexican restaurants before heading to the rodeo grounds each night.

A Historic New Mexican Event
The Rodeo de Santa Fe began in 1949 when Roy Butler, Austin “Slim” Green, Gene Petchesky, Paul Ragle, Paul Rutledge, and a few others had a dream and determination to organize a professional rodeo in Santa Fe, NM. This dream exceeded their ambitious expectations and today remains one of the top 60 PRCA Rodeos in the nation.
Last year’s Rodeo de Santa Fe drew nearly 500 contestants, including many World Champion Cowboys and Cowgirls. We can definitely expect to see that roster again in 2026!

“Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a beautiful town rich in culture and the cowboy lifestyle. The rodeo committee has done an incredible job over the years, creating a top-notch event that keeps people coming back year after year.”
Patrick O’Donnell
CEO & Founder of Cowboy Lifestyle Network

Exceptional Rodeo
Open to children and adults with physical and mental exceptionalities, this annual event is a fun way for all to experience the cowboy way of life firsthand. Participants enjoy a variety of simulated rodeo events, including riding a “bucking barrel”, roping hay bales, stick horse races, and much more! Bring the family and enjoy the festivities.
The 2026 Exceptional Rodeo will take place on Saturday, June 27th, from 10 am to 2 pm. Registration begins at 9 am. The Exceptional Rodeo will be held at the Roy Butler Memorial Arena at Rodeo de Santa Fe Grounds. During the Exceptional Rodeo performance, all of the contestants are assisted (as needed) into the rodeo arena by volunteers of the Rodeo de Santa Fe. While the Exceptional Rodeo is put on by Rodeo de Santa Fe and its many volunteers, it requires the generosity of the community to make it a total success.
If you’d like to cheer on the Exceptional Rodeo participants or help sponsor this event, contact the Rodeo de Santa Fe committee here.
