Arizona is no stranger to the wonderful combination western roots and modern-day charm can bring. From iconic hometown rodeos to country music festivals bringing in thousands upon thousands of fans, Arizona has everything the 21st-century cowboy and cowgirl love. With cooler weather on the horizon, Arizonians are itching to get outside and dive into some fun. Well Arizona, you’re in luck because the biggest western event of the year is making its debut in the Grand Canyon State, The Hondo Rodeo Fest!

After two years of anticipation, this highly acclaimed festival combines horsepower with star power as it brings rodeo’s top athletes to the arena and country music’s top artists to the stage. Whether you come for the bulls or the tunes, you’ll stay for the party as The Hondo Rodeo Fest provides something we all love, a good time!

Debuting in November of 2024, this festival will transform Downtown Phoenix into a western wonderland. 3 days of non-stop action will keep fans on the edge of their seats as athletes and artists join forces to create the biggest rodeo and music festival Phoenix has ever seen!

The Rodeo

Before the glitz and glam of stage lights and loud guitars, attendees will get to experience the rough and tumble ways of the west. Buzzers will blare, arena dirt will fly, and buckle-winning cowboys and cowgirls will fight for their shot at rodeo stardom and a combined 1 million dollar prize pool.

Rodeo fans won’t want to miss this legendary lineup of rodeo athletes. Top of their craft and personally invited to compete, these athletes include multi-world champion title holders such as 23-time WPRA World Champion, Jackie Hobbs-Crawford and 2020 World Champion Tie-Down Roper, Shad Ryan Mayfield.

The Music

Following each rodeo performance, country music’s top artists will take the stage. From Outlaw Country Legend Hank Williams Jr. to the Turnpike Troubadours combining country music roots of Americana, Bluegrass, and Rock, audience members will have the privilege of enjoying their favorite songs up close and personal.

Baseball Gone Country!

Can’t wait for November? Well luckily for you, you don’t have to! America’s two favorite pastimes are joining forces to bring you a fun-filled night the entire family will enjoy!  Join rodeo and baseball fans on July 12th at Chase Field for Country Night as the Arizona Diamondbacks face the Toronto Blue Jays! This themed evening will provide the first 20,000 fans with a D-Backs cowboy hat courtesy of The Stillery. Rumor has it some special guests will be attending as well!

Taryn Cantrell is an Arizona native who has spent many hours in the rodeo arena. Having grown up barrel racing, serving as the 2017 Gilbert Days Rodeo Queen and as a member of the Cowgirls Historical Foundation, Taryn is passionate about her western heritage and all things rodeo. When she’s not on horseback, Taryn can be found playing her bass guitar, painting, and performing around Phoenix with her band. Taryn is a graduate of Arizona State University with her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance. Taryn is proud to combine her love of the arts with her love of rodeo and has been honored to sing The National Anthem at various rodeos across the beautiful state of Arizona. Alongside her love for art and music, preserving her western heritage and promoting the sport of rodeo are just two of Taryn’s many passions. Taryn is so honored to share her love of rodeo with Cowboy Lifestyle Network’s wonderful audience.
