The term “cowboy” has been used throughout American history for decades. In reality, the word “cowboy” comes from Spain, tracing its roots to the Spanish word “vaquero”. There are different words that have stemmed from “cowboy”, usually meaning the same thing, some of these variations include cowpoke, buckaroo, cowpuncher commonly used in Texas, and cowhand. The true definition of a cowboy is deemed to be a cattle herder who tends to their cattle while on horseback. But, thanks to the western movie genre and Hollywood, “cowboy” has taken on a life of its very own. Today, we are excited to go through our top five picks of True American Cowboys.

Horseback riding is a popular sport that many people enjoy, but the average rider does not have the skills to train and ride their horse to its full potential. Serious horsemen and women are able to learn more advanced riding techniques by working with Chris Cox, a well-known horse trainer who teaches horsemanship at clinics in various locations and also at his ranch in Texas. Chris grew up on a cattle ranch in Australia where horses were the only form of transportation, so he became skilled in horsemanship at an early age.

On June 29, 2020, Prescott Frontier Days begin along with the annual Prescott Rodeo 2020. This year marks 133 for the PRCA event, which is billed as the “World’s Oldest Rodeo”. For those who don’t know, Hooey is a western sports clothing brand that was founded back in 2007 in south Texas. It initially started off with a goal to focus on the little details that often escape the eye, such as designing a simple but superior quality hat. Over the years, the goal has remained the same, but it’s been coupled with better ideas, greater creativity, and more innovations. What may have started off as just a hat eventually transformed into a variety of products and categories such as jackets, tees, hoodies, shirts, and so much more.
In honor of a summer we will never forget and all the canceled rodeos we won’t be able to attend, I wanted to put together a list of the Best Country Songs for Road Trips as an ode to what I know we are all missing. My hope with this list is that you can imagine yourself going down the rodeo road with your best friends in tow, headed to the show, wind in your hair, hand out the window and you have those butterflies in your belly, a promise of what’s to come.
For a long time, these industries have remained separate but thanks to a few key players, fans are now enjoying and learning about the best of each of them. In order to give you the full story, we need to start from the beginning. We would like to formally introduce you to Sportsman’s Choice Wildlife Feeds, a branch of Cargill. Sportsman’s Choice is a collection of premium wildlife feed made for deer, elk, exotics, and fish. Naturally, their audience has a love for the outdoors, wildlife, hunting, and all of the words mentioned at the top. So when Bucks for the Brave Heroes Hunt was born, it unseemingly brings together three industries for one event. You can read more about how Bucks for the Brave is supporting American Heroes, here.

Owning a horse is single-handedly one of the most rewarding and financially draining things a person can do for themselves. It is my hope with this “New Horse Starter Pack”, to shed some light on some of the things I have personally experienced that may be helpful to someone else starting their horse journey. The first bit of advice I can give you is that learning how to have and own horses are not something you can take a course on or read a book on. Learning about horses and caring for them is something you can only do by being around them and other people who can teach you. Below are some things I think are pertinent for someone to know when getting into the horse world.
